You need this sticky solution for emergency disasters

Planning for emergency disasters with … tape?

It’s true. Tape is the Swiss Army knife of disaster preparedness when it comes to safeguarding your facility. How about we dive into all the different kinds of tape?

Let’s see, there’s carton-sealing tape, flatback tape, blue painter’s tape, polyethylene tape, and good old-fashioned duct tape.

The different ways to utilize such a wide range of adhesives?

  • Aisle marking tape: Perfect for marking safe zones and danger areas in your facility during an emergency.
  • Window protection tape: Keeps windows from shattering in a storm and doesn’t leave sticky residue behind.
  • Caution tape: Sanctions off hazardous areas or secures supplies during a disaster. Keeping your employees safe is top priority, but also look out for supplies, equipment, etc. so you don’t pay for lost assets.
  • Duct tape: Good for quick fixes and emergency bundling to keep materials safe.
  • Masking tape: Seals off damaged areas without ruining your walls.
  • Tape for goosenecking: Sometimes it’s best to move materials out of harm’s way by packing them up (using the gooseneck bagging technique) and transporting them out of a disaster’s range.

Being unprepared for a disaster before it strikes incites panic and leaves you stranded. No electricity? A store or distributor closed when you need them? All this is avoided when you plan ahead with the right tape in the right place.

What’s wonderful about tape as a solution is its application for all stages of a disaster: prepping before it hits, managing during the chaos, and restoration after it ends. Luckily, Intertape Polymer Group (IPG) has all your tape needs covered.

Thanks to Dave Rekevics, IPG’s director of sales, we learned a lot about tape and its many uses. To hear more about what Dave had to say, watch the full video!
