The challenge: Reduce time and cost spent on inventory
The Moffett name has been proudly riding on forklifts for three decades. And many of those forklifts have been riding on trucks for just as long.
Why? Because Moffett is the global leader in truck-mounted forklifts. Part of the CargoTec brand, close to 400 people work at Moffett’s Dundalk facility creating the iconic machines.
But they had a problem.
More than 224 hours a month went into managing and distributing high-use consumables such as PPE. The search was on for a more efficient way.
And that’s when Fastenal entered the picture.

How they worked toward the goal
“We wanted to move the management and flow of consumable items to an off-site partner for the following reasons: streamline internal workflows, reduce hours (of resource managing such items), and reduce cost. We also wanted more traceability on where tools and consumables were being used.”
– Garreth Keenan, Site Procurement Specialist for CargoTec - Moffett
