"What's very important for our customers is on-time delivery, and from that aspect, Fastenal is playing a role, because if we don't have the supplies at the right time, then we cannot support our main mission, which is to deliver to our customers on time.” |
In the aerospace industry, markets move just as fast as the planes, which means supply chain demands can easily stack up – sometimes unexpectedly.
Safran Landing Systems is a division of the Safran aerospace group specializing in airplane landing gears and braking systems. Suffice to say, Safran goes through a lot of consumable parts, pieces, and PPE given their sheer amount of manufacturing. They quickly discovered that inventory management can become a real 747-sized task. |
“Our needs are always moving for our market. We have a lot of new improvements, and every year our business changes,” said Arnaud Holz, Operations Manager.
Partnering with Fastenal proved to be a great solution in a fast-paced industry requiring high volumes of daily supplies. Holz and company rely on a Fastenal Onsite and FASTCrib to deliver what they need when they need it, with no delay. They now host two full-time Onsite employees, a specific crib, and numerous vending machines. This ensures availability of the supplies needed to keep production running. All of this – according to Holz – is built on a foundational relationship with Fastenal that evolved over time. “We have built a relationship based on trust, and I would use the Safran motto to describe the relationship that we have. This is ‘Powered by Trust.’” |
Arnaud Holz is Operations Manager for Safran Landing Systems in Walton, Kentucky.
