The challenge: Have PPE right where it's needed
Put simply, Solvay is a science company. From smart textiles to personal care, Solvay’s polymers help meet the growing demand for natural and bio-based solutions.
At their Winona, Minn., plant, one of their main focuses is aerospace. Solvents and resins are a big part of the daily work there, which means employees need the right PPE at all times.
The best solution wound up being a Fastenal Onsite. With dedicated labor and point-of-use inventory vending, the Solvay team felt Fastenal could ensure PPE would always be available.
How the Onsite helps
"We have the vending machines here. So, they are available to the shop floor employees, office personnel as well, so we can go up, scan our badge, go ahead and get that tape, get those batteries, paint can, whatever the case may be, so that we're able to keep going here at the site.
If Fastenal wasn't here, we would have to have another person here to manage all that inventory for us and make those orders. So, [Fastenal] really plays a crucial role here at the facility in order to keep us moving along.”
