Take it from us: Being a supply chain partner isn’t just about moving products from A to B. It’s also about teaming up with organizations that can help you reach your goals.

For example, ever heard of WeRecycle? It’s a program designed to divert plastic from landfills by providing a full-circle way to recycle disposable safety cutters.

Here's how it works

  1. Get your kit: Contact the Fastenal Sustainability Solutions team to order a WeRecycle kit that has everything needed to get started.
  2. Assembly: Set up the kits and put them in high-traffic areas throughout your facility.
  3. Fill ’em up: Once bins are full, scan the QR code on top of the bin to submit your information. The WeRecyclists will then send you a shipping label.
  4. Send it back: Use the shipping label to return the gathered safety cutters to be recycled without hassle.
  5. Get your report: WeRecycle then sends a recycling report that documents the amount of plastic your facility has diverted from landfills.

When getting started, Fastenal can tell you if your safety cutters are compatible with the program.

Benefits of the program

  • Outsource the recycling to save labor and money.
    • Fastenal and Safety Products Global (SPG), the team behind WeRecycle, handle the delivery and dispose of your used safety cutters. All you have to do is collect them in your facility and let us handle the rest.
  • Contribute to your ESG goals.
    • If your facility wants to improve its recycling process, WeRecycle is an easy program to help reach that goal.
  • Divert plastic from landfills.
    • Every safety cutter you put into WeRecycle is one less piece of plastic thrown away and instead is used for recyclable products.
  • Gain a vendor with safety cutters made from reused plastics.
    • SPG uses the collected recycled plastics to make new safety cutters, which you can buy for your facilities!
  • Become part of the circular economy.
    • A circular economy benefits your bottom line (and the environment) by reducing labor, spending, and raw material consumption.

“Many companies are looking for ways to contribute to their corporate sustainability goals,” said Aurea Victoria, content marketing manager for SPG. “And we know these trends are not going to go away.”

So why not check out programs like WeRecycle? It’s a great, easy-to-use way to boost your facility’s sustainability, ESG goals, and bottom line.
